Everyone drinks it, whether it’s good or bad. In fact, without it you will be dead in a few days. So what is so important with it being clean? Knowing what is good can help you stay healthy.

Natural Minerals

How many chemicals are you actually drinking? Check your local distribution office and ask for their quality report. All public works have these reports that give information about how much Arsenic, Barium, Chromium, Selenium, etc. are in your glass. If you look at your daily multivitamin, many of these same minerals are found. However, they still should be avoided as they pose health risks to those who ingest too much of them.

Added Chemicals

We drink many chemicals everyday because they are added to what we drink. This does not mean the chemicals are safe to drink but that after treatment it is much safer when treated than untreated. For example, Chlorine kills Salmonella and E. coli, and it also can kill many viruses. Taking a drink that has Salmonella or E. coli. present is just as dangerous as eating uncooked meat. Your water filtration system rids it of Chlorine after it has killed the bacteria, ensuring it is safe.

BPA

Bisphenol A or BPA is a chemical that poses health risks to infants and children. Being used heavily in many bottles until a few years ago, check that your favorite bottle doesn’t contain it. If in doubt, throw it out. Many companies manufactured with this chemical and have since created non-BPA versions of their product. Look for the BPA free sticker when buying. Check with your filter manufacturer to see if it filters BPA.

At Home

American plumbing actually contributes to impurities with the products it uses to plumb modern houses. Many contain iron, copper, silicon and other non-organic matter that is harmful when ingested. Often the glue or solder used when putting pipes together is known to cause adverse effects. Be aware of by getting an analysis done today!

Get a Quality Assessment

Be sure that you are drinking clean liquids before buying a water filtration system by getting an analysis done. Check your local listing under water quality. Many companies will come to your house and do an analysis and tell you what exactly you are drinking. Once you have this information you will be able to pick the correct product for your needs.

Safety

By far, the safest is distilled. Distilled water goes through a process known as distillation that can be compared to a distiller used for making alcohol. It is placed in the distiller and them boiled, the condensation then goes through the top, leaving harmful chemicals behind and coming out clean. Most of us don’t have a distiller or want to buy distilled water so filtering with your water filtration system is the next safest thing.

Overall, what your drink is very important. Be sure you know what is in it and take steps to ingest the best.
